Here are links to older Ultraman/TsuPro related sites, while a lot of the info here may be accessible via wiki now, some of it is not. Plus it's fun to see a portal into the past!
TsuPro's official English site (early 03) - This little beauty shows us where English language relations with Ultraman were, coming up to the broadcast of 4Kids Tiga. There's not much info on here but there is an interesting interview about 4Kids Tiga as well as a very informal kinda FAQ. I love the trivia question at the very end personally. There is also this announcement trying to clear up confusion about copyright/ownership written in English.
[JP] MBS's official Ultraman Cosmos page ('01, '02) - A very nicely laid out site dedicated to our lovely blue friend, Cosmos.
TNT's Ultra 7 ('98) - Another as close to official site as possible, this is the site for TNT's release of English dubbed ''Ultra 7''. The picture of Seven used has a pretty scary aura, wouldn't you say?
Wayne Koizumi's Ultimate Ultraman guide (2000-2004) - This is arguably the most clean, consise and informative English Ultra source in the early 00s, other sites often link back here citing it as a source. It was closed down for personal reasons some time in mid-04 but what's linked here is the homepage for the most recent version up til then. I would recommend going down the rabbit hole of the Introduction and FAQ for a fun time. There's something about reading "the next Ultra will air in 2001" that hits different when Blazar is airing simuldubbed on Youtube in 2023.
History of Ultra CD - This is a website that documents official Ultra CDs, and vinyls, released from 1987 to 2011. It also has a section for Ultra-adjacent vinyls. Very informative and full of pictures and comparisons to know exactly what you're getting into if you wanna pursue these CDs too. Found here.
Oredame ('03) - A really cute Gavadon-obssessed fansite that has a lot of fun segments. Is the homepage for History of Ultra CD. Can be found here.
Ultraman Toy Collection (late 07) - While this site can be accesed up til 2010, it doesn't really get updated past this point in 07. This is a great way to see Ultra toys that have been lost to the archival sands of time, particularly ones older than the 90s.
Virtual Toys Chest ('07) - Just a site of old pictures of the toys from Ultraman Great.
The Ultra[man] FAQ ('03) - Another informative site that talks about not just Ultras but other Ultra-adjacent TsuPro heroes in the data available then like Andro Melos and Jumborg Ace. I learned the origin of Ultra Q's name from this site!
Tokusatsu Access Page ('02) - Another tape vendor from Illinois, USA. They've just got in Ultraseven 2002 (Heisei Ultraseven) as well as what looks to be up to the early 20s for Ryuki and Hurricanger.
The Ultrans of Harmony ('04) - If you've ever wanted to see some old Ultra fanfiction, here's what can be recovered from one site for just that.
Ultra Symphony ('01) - Another fanfic site. It's so fun to see ''PG-13'' be used as a fic content rating.
Alternate Ultraman Page ('99, '00) - Not updated in 23 years, we have a informational/picture site frozen in time. Particularly noteworthy here is the toys section, which has Ultraman Nice's sofubi listed as well as a new look at Kamen Rider Kuuga. I do have a lot of fondness for the aesthetic of this site in particular, and find its toy info to be helpful.
What's Cool In Japan ('98) - A site where you can find out what Japanese primary school students were interested in month by month from April 1997 to December 2005. This link specifically concerns Ultraman, who was popular in early '98 thanks to Tiga and Dyna.
Kooster's Web ('05) - This is another informative Ultra page, though the merch page (or what works of it) is my favourite part. It's funny that the page refers to ''Super Fighter Legend'' as ''Comet Warriors'', makes me wonder where that name comes from.
BURNproject.com (late '01) - A forum dedicated to mostly Ultra but allows for discussion of other toku, it is a completely working time capsule into how people were watching things like Kamen Rider Ryuki and Hurricanger as well as anime like Gundam. It is also a small peak into fandom opinion of the time, with Hurricanger being disliked coming as a surprise to me.
Ultra Manga Review ('02) - This is a Japanese rundown of all Ultra manga, including ones I really ought to try add to my main comprehensive list.
Baltan Fansite ('04) - This is a site dedicated to Baltan, our favourite lil guy. Check out the sofubi section!
Red King Museum ('96) - This is one of the oldest sites here and it's a Red King shrine!
UltraM2000's Website ('02) - This is an informal blog/fansite type of deal that has a lot of personality. I particularly enjoy the "You Know You're An Ultraman Fan When..." section.
CyberGecko's Ultra Kaiju Reviewed ('98) - CyberGecko above goes through the kaiju from OG, Return of Ultraman and Tiga and gives us his thoughts and ratings on them!
[JP] The Official Sites for Moritsugu Koji/Dan Moroboshi ('99) - This one's a bit of a rabbit hole since it can redirect you to sites that are hard to tell if they're fansites like ultraseven.co.jp here but this is supposedly the real deal from Mr. Moroboshi-san himself. Cool, huh?
[JP] Monster Lawless Zone/Eiji Tsuburaya's 100th Anniversary Exhibit ('03, '01) - This looks to be a kaiju model/figure making fanclub.Over here are some photos from the exhibit.
[JP] Illustrated Who's Who of Ultra Actors ('98, '23) - An in depth well of info about Ultra actors over the years. Something I never expected to see on my pursuit of these sites is Last updated: 07/17/2023 05:17:51
The Official Susume Kurobe Webpage ('01) - The old webpage of none other but Shin Hayata-san himself.
Area M78 Earth Outpost ('01) - An ARG-type site where the admins act as observers to the aliens known as Ultras, with things like ''Witness Reports''. A generally useful news outlet to see both what was happening with Ultra fans in 2001 and what they were asking in.
An Ultra Shrine Dedicated to Family ('01) - An Ultraman dedicated shrine on a wider site dedicated to things family members of an ''Auntie Janice''. This is the sorta early internet made solely for yourself and anyone else who might enjoy it sorta thing that I love. The ''welcome to 2000!'' banner on the homepage had me tearing up.
[JP]RememberHero ('98) - This is a JP fanpage, though I'm linking the one for Ultra specifically. Interesting to me to see that referring to RoU/Shinman as ''Jack'' was considered a "recent development" in 1997.
[JP] Ultraseven Wallpapers ('00) - This is a site of not only Ultraseven themed wallpapers, but desktop and PC logos also. I don't know or think it'll work on a modern machine, but cool nonetheless!
[JP] Tiga Fansite ('00, '01) - A Tiga fansite from what looks to be a Japanese mother. Very interesting to see an older fan's impressions of what was the new generation of Ultra.
[JP]Tokusatsu By Year/Tokusatsu Analysis ('98, '00) - Another JP page that lists toku shows by year up to Kuuga/Timeranger. It seems they were working on a university analysis about tokusatsu also.
[JP] Ultraman Festival '98 - Pictures from Ultraman Festival '98. There are other toku pages on here too, with the one detailing Rider bike stats and the bikes they're based on being my favourite.
[JP]Fun's Park ('98, '04) - What seems to be an original Ultraman concept, as well as an informative page about toys, music and books. Unfortunately whatever format the Ultraman Geo page used doesn't really display the characters on a modern screen.
Foreign Ultraseven Fans ('01) - A lovely Japanese fan had a kind mission to highlight messages of foreign fans love for Ultraseven. See what English speaking fans from 22 years ago were saying here! They also have a short info page about Ultraseven as well as a way to contact them if you too wanted to be on this historic list.
Ultraman2000 ('00) - A really nicely laid out site with pictures of toku heroes (like the brand new Kuuga!), manga, toys and more. There are a lot of pictures in the toy section here you won't see on Ultramantoys up above. The webmaster looks lovely too judging by his about page. I really like this one.
[JP] Zombie's Beloved Heroes ('00) - A site where a user named Zombie sees in the future and tells us what we now know 23 years later, that toku heroes are indeed ''flapping their wings around the world''. Once again, reading that Kuuga is ''now airing'' ages me considerably.
What the heck is Ultraman Powered?! ('98-ish) - A site explaining Ultraman Powered made by the teleplay writer for 2 episodes. Some interesting insight to what one of the US side felt about that whole ordeal and with competing with MMPR.
[JP] Ultraman Super Fighter Legend Explanation ('00) - A very simple site about the oft-forgotten USFL.
Xenorama's Ultra Page of the Month ('01) - A site where the user explains Ultraman and their experience with it. I personally really love the beliefs page
Ultraman A, B, Cs ('99) - Like something you'd see nowadays, this is a very funny site that makes creative use of many different Ultra toys to teach the letters of the alphabet.
Robert Hood - Giant Against Giants ('06) - This blog post from 2006 talks about Ultraman Max, the previous late 90s/early 00s Ultras before and tries to help answer the question of why kaiju keep appearing. What is interesting to me are the lines "At the time of writing, the series that followed on from Ultraman Max -- Ultraman Mebius -- is currently airing on Japanese TV and very few episodes have been available for viewing. What is clear, however, is that the show has taken much the same route as Ultraman Max, without the same level of attention given to celebrating past shows. It does, however, boast a similar combination of adventure, comedy, light-drama and kaiju absurdity." and Whatever the final outcome for this particular series, it is clear that Ultraman remains a viable franchise that has taken up the challenges of genre repetition and has managed to survive well into the new Millennium. as the author seemed to regard Mebius as having less attention to detail than Max.
